Co Q 10

Co q 10Co-Enzyme Q10 (CoQ 10)

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a redox component of mitochondria, helping in energy generation and in activating immune system.

Co enzyme Q 10 is  an oil soluble vitamin like substance present in most eukaryotic cells, primarily in the mitochondria, and helps convert food into energy.

It  is also known as ubiquinone. It  is a part of electron transport chain. It participates in aerobic cellular respiration and  generates ATP.

As most of the part of energy is produced in this way, it is found more in organs with the highest energy requirements—such as the heart, liver and kidney.

It is present in three  redox forms

Fully oxidized(ubiquinone), Semiquinone (ubisemiquinone) and Fully reduced (ubiquinol).

They can exist in completely oxidized  and reduced forms, which enables them to function in electron transport and  as an antioxidant

Bio Chemical Role

As it is very  important in energy production and transpot, it plays a crucial role in healthy well being of every cells

Electron Transport  Chain( ETC)

As it is fat soluble, it is mobile in cellular membrane and takes part in ETC. It acts as carrier in electron transport  from  enzyme complex 1 and  2 to complex 3, in ATP synthesis and energy release. Thus it acts in every cells to generate energy.

Antioxidant Function

As the Co-Q enzyme is an energy carrier, it is always undergoing the oxidation- reduction process during energy synthesis and release.  Unlike  other antioxidants, this inhibits both the initiation and the propagation of lipid and protein oxidation. It also regenerates other antioxidants such as vitamin E.  As the circulating CoQ10 in LDL prevents oxidation of LDL, it can  provide benefit in cardiovascular diseases.

Co-Enzyme Q 10 Supplement

After age of 35, The production of this enzyme begins to decline. So many scientists and researchers suggest the Co Q 10, as a supplement.

Now a days, Co Q 10 is very poplar and readily available as a dietary Supplement.   Biotex gives you the Revitalizing and Rejuvenating Supplements to increase the energy and live long, healthy.

Co Q 10 Enzyme

Conclusion

The latest findings highlight the beneficial role of coenzyme Q10 as coadjuvant in the treatment of syndromes, characterized by impaired mitochondrial bioenergetics and increased oxidative stress, which have a high social impact. Besides their clinical significance, these data give further insight into the biochemical mechanisms of coenzyme Q10 activity.
